This is ‘The Leap,’ a video series breaking down the NBA’s next generation of potential stars. In Part 4, we look at Denver’s sweet-shooting guard Jamal Murray.

Welcome to the fourth episode of The Leap, a video series from The Ringer and J. Kyle Mann, whom you might know from The Dime Drop, one of our favorite basketball YouTube channels. For The Leap, Kyle is training his scout’s eye and his sense of humor on a group of players primed to take the next step in their careers—possibly to stardom, possibly not. In the first episode, we looked at Lakers wing Brandon Ingram as he begins life with LeBron James. In the second installment, we broke down Josh Jackson of the Phoenix Suns. With the third episode, we checked in on the progress of Celtics wing Jaylen Brown.

In the fourth episode, The Leap is feeling that Rocky Mountain high with Denver’s Jamal Murray. Murray, the seventh pick of the 2016 NBA draft, is establishing himself as one of deadliest backcourt players in the league. He just posted a career-high scoring night, much to the chagrin of Kyrie Irving, and he seems poised to lead the Nuggets to the postseason for the first time since 2013. So what’s stopping him? We thought you’d never ask!
