Charlie Kaufman is one of American cinema’s singular voices, and with this weekend’s release of his new Netflix movie, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Ringer contributor Adam Nayman wanted to take a look at the writer-director. To narrow down a definition of Kaufman, an artist whose works frequently veer into the abstract and surreal, Adam has selected eight words that, when combined, might approximate a definition of “Kaufmanesque.”
