
The Ringer is seeking a podcast producer for its Los Angeles studio. This position will work closely with others producers and talent to develop, plan, and execute a variety of sports content across our network. The emphasis will be on NBA podcasts, but she or he will be asked to work on other topics as well.
The ideal candidate is creative and self-motivated, and has a deep understanding of the sports news cycle, including, but not limited to, NBA, NFL, MLB, golf, college football/basketball, soccer, and sports gambling content. This person should also have experience producing short- and long-form audio content. Most importantly, the candidate should have a passion for audio storytelling and an unmatched drive to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Draws on mastery of sports knowledge to produce informative and entertaining content
- Manages, records, edits, and transmits audio files with a focus on sound quality and conversation for assigned shows
- Helps to develop podcast structure, segments, and topics with hosts and other producers
- Assists hosts by providing detailed research
- Produces interviews, selects sound bites, writes and edits scripts
- Oversees production tasks including recording, editing, mixing, and publishing audio
- Liaises with editorial team to ensure holistic, topical coverage across the brand
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a producer in sports content
- Background in digital audio editing, preferably in Pro Tools
- Ability to meet objectives and deadlines under pressure, which may involve working evenings and weekends
- Experience pitching ideas and testing new concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A demonstrated understanding of The Ringer’s taste and voice
