The Ringer is seeking full-time summer interns to assist the video department in Los Angeles. Interns will chiefly be responsible for supporting the video producers, editors, and talent covering topics that drive the Ringer universe: sports, popular culture, technology, politics, food, and more. Interns will have the opportunity to pitch and produce pieces.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with video producers, editors, and talent in video endeavors
- Assist with fact checking, research assistance, data logging, interview transcribing, video production, and other project-management tasks
- Provide general studio and office support as needed
- Collaborate with the video department to pitch and produce pieces
Requirements
- Experience at a student television or podcast network or digital newspaper or magazine
- Working knowledge of Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
- Must have at least one prior professional internship
- Must have prior experience in editing and production skills, as well as basic shooting skills
- A fundamental ability to make sound editorial judgments and balance conflicting priorities
- Have a basic understanding of social media
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive under pressure, including working evenings and weekends
This is a paid internship and is full time. While time frame is negotiable, applicants must be able to commit for a minimum of 12 weeks. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. college or university or be no more than one term past their graduation date; in good academic standing if still in school; and in possession of unrestricted work authorization.
