The Ringer is seeking full-time summer interns to assist its podcast department in Los Angeles. Interns will provide support to the podcast producers and talent covering topics that drive the Ringer universe: sports, popular culture, technology, politics, food, and more. Interns will have the opportunity to produce pieces.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fact checking, research assistance, data analysis, interview transcribing, pre- and post-production, and other CMS work
- Provide general studio and office support as needed
- Collaborate with the podcast department to pitch and produce relevant pieces
Requirements
- Experience at a student podcast, radio station, television network, newspaper, or magazine
- Working knowledge of Slack, Trello, and Pro Tools
- Must have at least one prior professional internship
- Must have prior experience as an audio producer
- Must demonstrate an understanding of creating content on the latest social media platforms
- Must show a fundamental ability to make sound editorial judgments and balance conflicting priorities
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and thrive under pressure, including working evenings and weekends
This is a paid internship and is full time. While time frame is negotiable, applicants must be able to commit for a minimum of 12 weeks. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. college or university or be no more than one term past their graduation date; in good academic standing if still in school; and in possession of unrestricted work authorization.
