
The Ringer is seeking full-time summer interns to assist with its editorial departments in Los Angeles and New York. Interns will chiefly be responsible for supporting the copy desk and assisting the editors and writers covering topics that drive the Ringer universe: sports, pop culture, technology, politics, food, and more. Interns will have the opportunity to write in any of our core areas of interest.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fact checking, research assistance, interview transcribing, story production, and other CMS work as necessary
- Provide general office support as needed
- Collaborate with the editorial department to write relevant pieces
Requirements
- Experience at a student newspaper, magazine, or podcast network
- Must have at least one prior professional internship
- Experience as both a writer and editor
- Must show a fundamental ability to make sound editorial judgments and balance conflicting priorities
- Must have high-level communication, critical-reading, and writing skills
- Should be conversant in or passionate about the topics that are relevant to The Ringer’s universe
- Should be comfortable navigating social media platforms
- Must be able to fact check in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and thrive under pressure, including working evenings and weekends
This is a paid internship and is full time. While time frame is negotiable, applicants must be able to commit for a minimum of 12 weeks. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. college or university or be no more than one term past their graduation date; in good academic standing if still in school; and in possession of unrestricted work authorization.
