The Ringer seeks a Los Angeles–based human resources manager to oversee matters related to personnel. The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience in HR or a related field. This position will have regular hours out of the Ringer office.
Duties
- Manage employee relations.
- Provide day-to-day counsel on matters concerning employee relations, including HR compliance, law, and government regulations. Support consistency through policy interpretation, execution, and documentation, and adherence to procedures and standards.
- Oversee recruiting, hiring, and termination processes, including onboarding and exit interviews.
- Perform an annual review of benefits programs to identify and procure the most cost-effective benefits packages and direct the annual renewal process.
- Process biweekly and ad-hoc payroll.
- Partner with department heads and the legal department to create, review, and administer employee contract agreements.
- Work with one or more senior business leaders to set human resources priorities and participate in the strategic planning and development of comprehensive human resources programs to support effective business management, professional development of staff, and the organization’s strategic plans.
Requirements
- A degree in human resources or a related field is a plus.
- Working knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Working knowledge of labor law and HR best practices with a primary focus on California labor laws.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with employees and management in a professional and engaging manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate high professional and ethical standards.
- Experience with Paychex is a plus.
