The Ringer is seeking a podcast producer for its Los Angeles studios. This position will work closely with on-air talent and the existing production team to develop and execute a variety of content across our network.
The ideal candidate is creative and self-motivated, and has a deep understanding of the sports news cycle and the internet. This person should also have experience producing short- and long-form audio content. Most importantly, the candidate should have a passion for audio storytelling and an unmatched drive to succeed.
Experience and Requirements
- Two to five years of experience as a producer
- Background in digital audio editing preferably in Pro Tools
- Ability to meet objectives and deadlines under pressure
- Experience pitching ideas and testing new concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A demonstrated understanding of The Ringer’s taste and voice
Responsibilities and Duties
- Draws on mastery of sports knowledge to produce informative and entertaining content
- Leads the implementation of planning and programing coverage for assigned shows
- Develops podcast structure, segments, and topics with hosts
- Prepares hosts by providing detailed research
- Produces interviews, selects sound bites, writes and edits scripts for narrative pieces
- Oversees production tasks including recording, editing, mixing, and publishing audio
- Coaches talent and gives regular feedback
- Liaises with editorial team to ensure holistic, topical coverage across the brand
