The Takeaway
The Player
Mesidor is an absolute terror as a pass rusher—you won’t find another in this class who features a more consistent and effective plan. He has a deep array of moves, change-of-direction suddenness, violent hands, and an absolutely relentless motor. He played 827 snaps in 2025 and didn’t save himself on any of them. He clearly puts in the work watching tape and exploits offensive linemen’s weaknesses with his varied attack plans. He ties his hands to his feet effortlessly, employs a sweet euro-step and understands how to tempo his rushes. His tape often presented an absolute master class for a college pass rusher, particularly his play during the College Football Playoff. He finished fourth among edges in this class with 71 pressures in 2025, behind Rueben Bain and David Bailey, who each had 90. He also ranked just behind Bain and Bailey in pass rush win rate (21.3 percent), well above the average of Round 1 edge prospects dating back to 2015 (17.3 percent).
Mesidor has age and durability red flags. He was a six-year college player who will be 25 years old in April. He missed the 2023 season with torn ligaments in his foot. He lacks ideal length, and he has a tendency to roam at times, which gets him into trouble. He needs to learn to play with more gap discipline. But he’s a disruptive run defender with excellent range and frequently makes plays in the backfield and in pursuit outside the tackle box.
The Draft
While Mesidor’s Miami teammate Rueben Bain Jr. is more widely viewed as the no. 3 edge rusher in this class, some NFL teams we’ve talked to have Mesidor graded higher due to his superior pass rush ability. Regardless, Mesidor is a Round 1 talent all day long.
The Projection
NFL general managers are not as hung up on Mesidor’s age as the media appears to be. He’s seen as an immediate-impact pass rusher. There are some similarities between Mesidor and Uchenna Nwosu—they have comparable frames, are technically proficient pass rushers, and are equipped for edge roles in hybrid fronts.
