The Supreme Court has struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992, which prevented states from making their own regulations regarding sports gambling. The case, Murphy v. NCAA, which began as New Jersey’s attempt to revive the struggling casino industry in Atlantic City, has implications for all the major pro sports leagues as well as the amateur ranks.
