DE

Greg Townsend

Beverly Hills HS, Ca.

USC, UCLA, TCU, Miami, Oregon, Washington, LSU

Drake: Publicly flirting with his fathers alma mater, TCU. I just don't see him getting away from SC here -- unless something unforeseen happens.

CB

Stefan McClure

Vista HS, Ca.

Washington, UCLA, Cal, Oregon, Florida, Miami, Colorado

Drake: Recently tripped to Washington (one of his two leaders w/ UCLA) and came away impressed. Huskies really need a corner like McClure, but I think the Bruins will win out in the end due to proximity and overall feel for McClure.

OL

Cyrus Hobbi

Saguaro HS, Az.

Nebraska, Arkansas, Oregon State, Alabama, Washington, Arizona, Michigan

Drake: Very little confidence in this projection. Hobbi will visit Nebraska, Washington, Arkansas, and Alabama on officials this fall. He has already visited Oregon State on an official, and quite a few schools (including Michigan) unofficially.

DT

Viliami Moala

Grant HS, Ca.

Washington, Cal, Alabama

Drake: It's always been Cal. Tiny and Coach Lupoi at Cal have a great relationship. I'd be shocked if he didn't declare for the Golden Bears after the season.

S

James Sample

Grant HS, Ca.

Washington, Cal

Drake: Likely to announce with his teammates after the season (including Moala) and cement Grant as a Cal pipeline.

WR

George Farmer

Serra HS, Ca.

USC, Oregon, Miami, Florida, Alabama

Drake: Speaking of pipelines, USC is poised to pick up two or three more from Serra in the 2011 cycle. Farmer may take some officials down to SEC country, but all they are is free trips.

S

Marqise Lee

Serra HS, Ca.

USC, UCLA, Cal

Drake: Not sure why it took so long, but Lee finally got UCLA and USC offers at the beginning of September. The Trojan staff is telling Marqise he can play both football and basketball if he wants to. That, and a number of other factors have SC as the overwhelming favorite right now.

DE/OLB

Jason Gibson

Serra HS, Ca.

Cal, Oregon, Florida, UCLA, USC

Drake: Right now it looks as if, at least publicly, USC is not doing enough to make Gibson feel wanted. Cal has been on him the longest and have made him a priority. Another team to watch for with Gibson is UCLA.

ATH

Colt Lyerla

Hillsboro HS, Oregon

Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Oklahoma

Drake: Lyerla has been pretty quiet the whole process, and whispers of qualification issues have always been around. If he does qualify, I think he's a Duck.

DT

Todd Barr

Lakewood HS, Ca.

Cal, Washington, Florida, UCLA

Drake: Very tough projection here. He loved his trip to Florida and will come back for an official, Cal has always seemed to be his leader, and he really likes UCLA. If he wants to stay out West, at this point, I think it's Cal. But Florida is a very real possibility at this time.

DT

Christian Heyward

Point Loma HS, Ca.

Arizona, UCLA, Nebraska

Drake: Heyward has been very tight-lipped about his recruitment recently. The general consensus from sources indicate he's a UCLA lean at this point.

ATH

Devon Blackmon

Summitt HS, Ca.

Oregon, UCLA, USC, Cal, Florida, Alabama

Drake: He's been to UCLA quite a bit and seems very comfortable with the players and staff. I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't end up a Bruin.

RB

Harvey Langi
Bingham HS, Utah

BYU, Utah, UCLA, Stanford, Washington

Drake: He seems enamored with the idea of playing in the Pac-10, and that could be a sticking point for BYU's efforts. That said, there are just too many variables pushing him to the Cougars, and I'd be mildly surprised if he went elsewhere.

DL

Todd Peat

Corona Del Sol HS, Az.

Stanford, Alabama, Arizona State, Miami, Nebraska

Drake: It looks like a three team race between Stanford, Alabama, and Arizona State with Nebraska and Miami sitting there as two dark-horses hoping to get him on an official visit. Peat's brother, Andrus, is a 2012 five-star candidate.

Jabari Gorman Q&A

Jabari Gorman of Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, FL is one of the most sought after prospects in the state. The 5’10.5”, 170-pound Gorman stars on both sides of the ball for the Spartans and currently holds more than 20 offers from schools all across the country. TR recently caught up with Jabari to ask him a few questions about his recruitment.

Crowell on Ohio State visit, timeline

Ever since he received a scholarship offer from Ohio State last month, Conner Crowell has wanted to take a return visit to Columbus.  His previous visit for the contest with Southern Cal last fall had left him with a great first impression of the Buckeyes.  Saturday’s annual Scarlet vs. Gray Spring Game was the perfect chance for the 6’1”, 215 pound linebacker from Waldorf (MD) North Point to get another look at the program.

Myles away from home

West Chester, PA linebacker Myles Jackson is a very physical linebacker who plays the game with aggression.  He moves extremely well for a player at 6’4”, 225 pounds and shows a lot of athleticism.  He seems to play with a bit off a chip on his shoulder too which will only aid the search for his first offer.

Saulsberry shines in Gainesville

Last weekend, the Nike Football Training Camp made it’s way through Gainesville, Florida and it was one of Gainesville’s own that made perhaps the biggest splash. Trevarris Saulsberry exploded onto the scene in his own backyard as the 6’4”, 260-pound defensive lineman from Gainesville High stole the show.
