When watching Steward, the two things that jump out at
you are how fluid he is and the explosion he plays with.
Tony is an elite athlete for his size that also brings
great physicality to the table. If you get in his way --
he will hit you. An all-around linebacker that can play
any scheme you chose to put him in. Can play all the
linebacker positions. Gets great depth in his drops and
is very capable in man-to-man coverage. Great lateral
quickness and can change directions on a dime. Steward
is a very aggressive player and that trait sometimes
leads to over-pursuit. He beats blockers on a consistent
basis with very good upper body strength and quickness.
The best middle linebacker I have scouted this cycle.
Translation to College:
Steward should be in the two-deep as a true freshman and
contribute both on the defense and as a special teams
maven. His potential is off the charts if he works on
the mental aspect of the game. Two or three year starter
with All-American potential.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
