Howard is as complete a CB prospect as you’ll find at
the prep level. He has the size and length you look for
and plenty of room on his frame to grow. A very
aggressive and physical player with great instincts,
fluid hips and good technique, Howard is a true lockdown
corner at the high school level. In press man coverage,
he gets up in the receiver’s face and uses his hands to
jam them and knock them off their routes to disrupt the
timing of the play. When playing in off man coverage, he
turns and runs very naturally and uses his reaction and
closing speed to effectively bait QBs. He has elite ball
skills and is extremely comfortable and confident
playing the ball in the air. He can also be an asset in
run support as he plays stronger than his size would
indicate. He does a good job of shedding blocks and is a
solid tackler with good form. Howard is a very
instinctive player with a lot of confidence and a great
football IQ.
Translation to College:
Howard’s game translates very well to the college level.
He needs to continue to get bigger and stronger for his
physical style to be effective at the next level, but he
has the room on his frame to carry 185-200 pounds. With
his technique and understanding of the game, Howard
could contribute as a freshman and be a 3 year starter
at cornerback.

Becoming a hot
commodity
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
