Thoughts on the commitment
Clemson keeps stockpiling running backs... Speedy
coupled with Marlin Lane (though still taking visits) is
a very impressive haul. Both Florida running backs are
top 5 in-state when healthy. Bellamy adds a dimension
not many players do -- he can take it the distance on
any given play. Questions abound about grades and
qualifying hurdles to get Mike into Clemson, but I'm
under the impression he should be ok after speaking with
some familiar with his situation. Also a lot of skeptics
whether this commitment will translate into a signed LOI
come National Signing Day. I'm hearing the commitment is
very solid as of now with little chance of a change
barring something unforeseen.
Scouting Report
Explosive... His nickname isn't speedy for no reason.
Has a top gear that you don't see in many players and he
gets to it in a hurry. A small crease leads to a big run
with Mike due to the fact he gets through the hole so
quickly. Offensive lineman's dream, elusive in the open
field, soft hands, great cutback ability, elite athlete.
Does not take many false steps in the backfield and
displays very good vision and instincts for a player his
age. Slippery in confined spaces, braces himself well
through traffic and rarely takes a full hit from his
tackler, great ball security fundamentals. His inability
to run inside is way overblown. He does run tough inside
when needed at Charlotte even with his current strength
and weight. A year or two in a college strength &
conditioning program should be able to add 20 pounds to
that frame.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
