What are the top 10 classes in
the nation so far?
-Nebraska
1. Texas
Headliners
- OT Christian Westerman
- CB Josh Turner
- DB Quandre Diggs
- OLB Steve Edmond
- CB Leroy Scott
- DL Cedric Reed
- OT Garrett Greenlea
Embarrassment of riches.. They have easily the top class
to this point and at the very least will be #2 by the
time National Signing Day ends.
2. LSU
Headliners
- OT La'el Collins
- DT Anthony Johnson
- RB Jeremy Hill
- WR Jarvis Landry
- OG Trai Turner
- RB Kenny Hilliard
In an amazing year for top tier Louisiana talent, LSU is
doing what they're supposed to do -- clean up. How their
upcoming season goes will be a key to staying in the top
5 come February.
3. Alabama
Headliners
- S Hasean Clinton-Dix
- OLB Brent Calloway
- WR Marvin Shinn
- CB Jabriel Washington
- WR Danny Woodson Jr.
- DE D.J. Pettway
The National Champions are putting together a solid
class and could end up top 3 if they take a full class
with the likes of Cyrus Kouandjio and others still on
the board.
4. Ohio State
Headliners
- QB Braxton Miller
- DE Steve Miller
- OC Brian Bobek
- S Jeremy Cash
- DT Michael Bennett
- DE Chase Farris
They've hit Ohio hard and hand picked much of their
class to this point in-state all while still going out
of state and getting great additions like Bobek, Cash,
and Evan Spencer. You can probably add Ron Tanner and
Nick Vannett to this heralded class in the coming weeks
as well.
5. Southern Cal
Headliners
- ATH DeAnthony Thomas
- QB Max Wittek
- WR Victor Blackwell
- DT Antwaun Woods
- LB Tre Madden
- DL Jalen Grimble
Small in numbers, big in talent. The Trojan class to
this point is loaded with targeted California prospects
and should be top 10 come the end of the cycle.
6. Oklahoma
Headliners
- RB Brandon Williams
- DT Jordan Phillips
- DT Marquis Anderson
- DE Nathan Hughes
- WR Trey Metoyer
- WR Kameel Jackson
Two great wide receiver prospects with athlete Brandon
Carter also a nice player. Stockpiling the defensive
line. Losing the #1 player in the state of Oklahoma to
Texas hurts though.
7. Georgia
Headliners
- QB Christian LeMay
- S Corey Moore
- OT Watts Dantzler
- DE Sterling Bailey
- ATH Nick Marshall
- OC David Andrews
In what could end up an amazing class if things fall
their way, Georgia has already put together a nice
offensive line, wide receiver, and secondary class. They
also got the #1 quarterback on their board.
8. Florida
Headliners
- QB Jeff Driskel
- WR Javares McRoy
- WR Ja'Juan Story
- OLB Ryan Shazier
- DE Jeoffrey Pagan
- ATH A.C. Leonard
With a rumored stockpile of silent commitments, the
Gators are well on their way to another top 5 class
filled with versatile athletes.
9. Florida State
Headliners
- DB Tyler Hunter
- DT Nile Lawrence-Stample
- WR Rashad Greene
- OLB Terrance Smith
- OL Trey Pettis
- S/LB Karlos Williams
Filling needs and taking prospects that work well with
your system is the mindset of this class to date. The
close to FSU's recruiting cycle and how willing the new
coaches are to wait on a couple kids will dictate how
high in the top 10 FSU climbs.
10. Stanford
Headliners
- LB James Vaughters
- ATH Charlie Hopkins
- OL Garrett Gladd
- RB Amir Carlisle
- RB Remound Wright
- QB Kevin Hogan
That staff out in Palo Alto has taken things national
the past couple years and they continue to gain traction
on the recruiting trail. If Harbaugh stays, it will be
fun to watch how good he can make that program.

What are your thoughts on BC's
new commit Nick Lifka?
-BCEagles24
Lifka is a prospect out of Naperville, Illinois that I
really like. Some schools were recruiting him at
fullback, but I think his future is at middle
linebacker. He's not going to wow you with explosion,
but his athleticism is good enough. He's quick to
diagnose the play, takes great angles, and is a stout
run defender both at shedding blocks and beating his man
to the hole. I love how his awareness and physical
build/strength project to the college game.
He's also a better than average zone coverage backer due
to his instincts and has good enough lateral movement to
pursue down the line and make plays. You aren't going to
want him out in space in one-on-one coverage.
Overall, very solid player with a nice football IQ
coupled with above average physical talents that could
lead to him being a volume tackler in college if he
stays on defense.

Where's Devon Blackmon going?
-IrishT
Oregon, Florida, USC, California, UCLA, Washington, and
Alabama are all right
there.
Recruiting should really start to pick-up for Devon
later this summer when he gets
a chance to sit down and focus on his favorites. For
now, some Alabama talk the
past couple of months with Blackmon, but I think he
stays out west. He really
enjoyed his recent visit to UCLA and their camp. As of
today, I think he's a
Bruin. Long ways to go with him though -- should be a
January/February decision.
Thanks to everybody that submitted questions. If you
would like to submit a question for next Monday's
mailbag do so
