The first things that stick out to you when watching
Turner play are his size and aggressiveness. In the run
game, he gets on a defender, and using great strength,
drive blocks his guy into oblivion before heading to the
second level of the defense. He's above average in pass
protection as well playing at offensive tackle in high
school. Most likely an interior lineman in college due
to his road grader mentality and physical tools. If he's
put at tackle in college he will have to work on getting
off the snap quicker. For a prep lineman, he also uses
good pad level.
Translation to College:
Two to three year starter with the talent to be an
All-Conference type player. Should be a candidate to
play as a true freshman, if needed. Physically ready,
needs some coaching on technique and explosion work in
the gym.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
