With
your set expectations of the trip to North Carolina,
were you blown away?
It was a great trip. It really opened my eyes and I’m
very happy I made the trip down there to see what’s
going on.
How was your trip to ECU?
It’s a very confident campus. Everybody loves and cares
about each other with that new coaching staff. It’s a
place that is sort of starting a new chapter, but is
still trying to head in the same direction.
Did they give off a good energy for you?
They’ve won the CUSA championship for the past two years
so they have a great past.
How was your trip to NC State?
It was real good. I got to meet with Coach Willis and
coach… I think his name is O’Brien, so it was awesome.
It is a beautiful campus, everything about it is
awesome. It was definitely was a good school. You could
see how much backing the alumni show to the school. I
mean I think it’s the only campus in the country where
you need an elevator just to get to the field!
Probably your most anticipated visit was to the
University of North Carolina. How was the atmosphere? Is
there anything else like it in North Carolina?
Most of the time with other coaches, they talk about
football. With the coaches at North Carolina, they’ll
talk about football, but they’ll also talk about
education. They understand they want to win games
because they get athletes to where they are. Everybody
seems to be really good and really close because they
are all in pretty much in the same situation. They can
really compete for a national championship really soon
because they get those athletes. They have a huge
backing, they are about to build on to their stadium,
and Coach Butch Davis is great. He's very straight
forward and he likes to joke around too. He’s just an
average person and the type of person you want to play
for. He’s down to earth.
Now you told me that Coach John Blake said that you
do some things better than Marvin Austin. Did you get a
chance to meet Marvin?
Yeah I did. He’s awesome. He came from our area, so we
can both relate to a lot of different things. Also the
fact that people call me the next Marvin Austin too, but
I don’t know if I’m there yet, haha.
I know your head is probably still spinning from this
weekend, but what do you think you can take away from
these visits as you move to the next step in your
recruitment?
You can see the facilities and compare facilities. You
can also compare education. Also, NC State’s facilites
are off campus so you have to drive there, but UNC’s
facilities are on campus.
What do these visits clear up? Are you still open to
other offers coming in?
Oh I am still very open. I just got an offer from Friday
from West Virginia so I’m just really open to a lot of
things. I am confident in my ability and I think I can
play anywhere and possibly make a big impact.

Every recruit and recruitnik alike knows how
crazy college football recruiting can become.
For some it's crazier than others and for some
the 'crazy' is what makes the experience so much
fun. Vernon Hills (Illinois) wide receiver
prospect Davaris Daniels would be one of the
'some' on both counts.
The class of 2012 has
