With less arm strength, Worley is very reminiscent of a
pre-N.C. State Phillip Rivers. Two things in particular
keep Worley from being a higher rated prospect. First is
his arm strength -- The zip on the ball late is just not
there when you go outside the hash marks. Second is his
delivery -- the throwing lanes at the college level will
shrink and his shoulder level delivery will be easy for
next level defenders to pick up and with his current
delivery he makes himself smaller in the pocket to
linemen. His quick delivery will help to negate some of
the drop in his throwing motion. That said, his
understanding of an offense is top notch, the early
intangibles (pump fakes, play action, leadership in a
huddle) are there, and his touch and accuracy are well
above average.
Translation to College:
Should redshirt and get stronger while learning how to
play from under center. Has more command of an offense
and ability to play quicker than Tyler Bray at this same
point last year. I like his chance to be a multiple year
starter and progress nicely with Jim Chaney's help.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
