Thoughts on the commitment
Ohio State landed an elite quarterback prospect Thursday
when Wayne High School's Braxton Miller committed to the
Buckeyes. A true franchise type player both in his
unbelievable skill set and his demeanor on and off the
field. In the 2011 class you will be hard pressed to
find a QB with all the talent and intangibles Braxton
has combined with the ceiling all his skills put
together give him. Ohio State should have no trouble pulling a top 10
class in the 2011 cycle and I expect when we look back 4
years from now Braxton will be the centerpiece.
Scouting Report
Versatility stands out with Miller. You can run any type
of offense you want with the skill set he posesses. The
playbook is wide open when he's under center or in the
shotgun. He shows great awareness on the field, both in
what the defense is trying to do and how to manipulate
coverage before the ball is snapped. Can make all the
throws necessary in the college game and has well above
average footwork for a player his age. His confidence in
his arm and touch on short to intermediate routes get
him in trouble at times. Superior athlete in the running
game and buys time with his feet inside the pocket.
Looks to throw more than run, but can do either at a
high level. Almost always throws a spiral and has the
arm strength of a 5-star player. Shows above average
leadership qualities and has the poise and work ethic
others will respect and follow.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
