Elite athleticism for a man his size. Gets a great burst
off the snap of the ball and often beats his defender
with quickness and strength. Displays a pretty good
motor and has excellent lateral movement. Johnson is
already a highly rated player due to his athleticism,
burst, and strength at the defensive tackle position,
but he also has a lot of room for improvement. He has
the raw skills to be a dynamic player on the defensive
interior, and if he can get with the right coach to
learn technique, pad level, and hand use -- the sky is
the limit.
Translation to College:
Has a lot to learn as an incoming freshman if he wants
to be dominant on the college level and beyond. With his
skills as they are now, he would be a very good college
player with the possibility of an All-Conference team or
two. With progression in technique, hand use, and the
mental aspect of D-tackle he could be a top 5 NFL draft
pick and an All-American candidate.
