Fleming up to 13
offers
By
Jesse McCormack

Speed and size are two of the most
important measurables in football, and
it’s rare to find a perfect blend of
both. So, I guess you could say, 2011
safety prospect T.K. Fleming from
Benton, Louisiana is a rarity.
Fleming is bigger than your average
safety prospect at 6’3", 207 pounds, but
still clocks in at around 4.4 in the forty
yard dash. The Louisiana native believes
it is his gifts off the football field - and on
the track - that separates him from other
prospects.
“I'd say the fact that I’m really good
at track because I’m fourth in the
nation in long jump and triple jump,”
Fleming said. “So schools won't just
look at me for football, but also for
track.”
Fleming’s Benton High School team had a
decent season, finishing 7-4 before
being knocked out by Franklinton in the
third round of playoffs. The big time
talent led his team in tackles with 67
and made first team All District, but
still believes there is always room for
improvement.
“I think I did pretty good, I tried to
make minimal mistakes and I think I did
alright.” He described. “In my free time
I like to hang out with friends, go to
movies, but a lot of the time I’m
practicing, reviewing film and looking
at mistakes I made and trying to get
better.”
One of the ways Fleming is trying to get
better is by attending camps. He also
says he wants to improve in the
classroom.
“This summer I’m really trying to
improve myself by going to camps to make
my team and me better.” Said Fleming.
“I’m thinking about going to a Nike
camp, Rivals has sent me a letter, and
Football University sent me a letter so
I’m thinking about going to that camp.
“I think I can improve on my skills
school wise, like GPA and taking the ACT
and that sort of stuff.”
Though Fleming is early in the
recruiting process- he's still almost a
full year until he signs his Letter of
Intent- he already boasts an impressive
13 offers.
“I have 13 offers. Some of them are
Oregon, LSU, UCLA, Tennessee, Grambling,
Louisiana Tech, Northwestern, and
Nebraska.” Fleming said.
Fleming admitted he has an early leader
in his recruiting process, and also told
TR about some visits he is considering
taking.
“LSU (his favorite) because it’s close
to home and I just have always liked LSU
through middle school and high school.”
he said. “Really I want to go to a
school with good football and track and
LSU says they’re looking at me for track
too so I feel like I could maybe go
there and do both at the same time.
“I'm thinking about visiting LSU,
Oregon, and Oklahoma State.”
