Scouting Report
As a high school quarterback, Green shows out most when he gets into space with
an ability to move up field quickly coupled with being able to plant his foot in
the ground and change direction in quick fashion. The 6'2" receiving prospect
also moves laterally well and shows good lower body strength.
Another aspect of Green's game that will translate well to receiver are his stop
and start capabilities. Green has the ability to get up to top speed rather
quickly for an athlete his size from a complete stop and I believe that will
help his route running in the future.
His willingness to put team first is also a plus when it comes to changing his
position in college. I also believe his unselfish nature will allow him to be
redshirted coming in and help in the process of molding his understanding of how
to play wide out.
From the little I've seen of Christian at the wide receiver position, he shows
very good hands for the position and a knack for reading his defender in a one
on one instance. Coming into college, Green is a great playmaker that will have
to learn the fundamentals, route running and idiosyncrasies to being a complete
wide receiver.
Who He Reminds Me Of
Mix between Anquan Boldin and Damien Williams. His lower body strength (that of
a running back) reminds me of Boldin, while his quickness and acceleration
remind me of Williams. Those two qualities are Green's best physical attributes
in my opinion.
College Outlook
Any school would love to have a playmaker with the talents of a Christian Green
coming in. I believe Green has the ability to be an all conference type player
at the wide receiver position and a top 60 NFL draft pick in the future if he
gets the proper coaching.
In his freshman season, Christian is a definite redshirt possibility in order to
let him have a year to learn his new position. Green has the frame to also add a
bit more upper body strength and should see the weight room quite a bit as he
steps on campus.
